Stacey Hughes Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to my new blog!

Hi! My name is Stacey Hughes and I am a mother to three wonderfully active children. I am a natural light photographer specializing in lifestyle portraits of newborns, babies, children, and families.

On my new blog you will find photos of my family, recent sessions, the latest news from Stacey Hughes Photography, and whatever else strikes my fancy that day. You may also notice that I have a tendency to stray from child portraiture from time to time because life it too short to keep yourself in a box!

Please feel free to leave a comment as I would love to hear from you!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Little M & E!

I look forward to this session every year. Laughing, jumping, running…full of energy, but they still know how to work it in front of the camera.

The Claus Twins!

My how big they are getting. Just a short time ago, I took their newborn pictures, and they’ve grown so much that I had to come back for another series! Mrs. Claus was hamming it up for the pictures.  Mr. Claus would rather have been sleeping or eating;-).

Picture the Holidays: Reframing the Season

My decorations are usually up and in their full glory by now.  I’m a bit behind.  I have a tree up and the lights are outside, but I have a stack of decorations on my kitchen island that I’m determined to get up today…after a long list of to-dos of course.  I have designed, ordered, and delivered over 1500 holiday cards and today Heidi and I are putting US first.  We will play ball outside (in the rain), clean the house, post our OWN photos, and order our family Christmas card…FINALLY.  Maybe even work out!! Today is the day that I reframe THIS holiday season to focus on my family and I’m feeling so grateful.  The kids are at school, so today is HEIDI and mommy day (she’s been so patient).

Picture the Holidays – Holding Onto Gratitude

Let’s face it, this is my hell week. I’ve wrapped up all my client holiday sessions, placing orders as late as 1am, wrapping gift baskets, answering calls and emails, and tying up loose ends for a fun (but labor intensive!) school event that I’m co-chairing. My house has seen better days…but I’ve vowed to enjoy every single day this Christmas (there I said it) season. In the midst of a crazy day, there is a sense of calm – yes, it’s actually a bit eerie, but it gives me time to clean up, clear my head, and to make some sipping chocolate. This is my family china that I used when I was little and it calms me just holding it. It reminds me how lucky I am to be so busy – busy means I have friends and family in my life, and activities I enjoy, a job I love, and it helps me appreciate the times when I’m not so busy. So here’s to HOLDING ONTO GRATITUDE with sipping chocolate and stealing downtime when you can!

I see the light!!

There is a light at the end of this long holiday photo shoot tunnel! I’m wrapping up my holiday sessions and have been NOT posting for fear of ruining anyone’s card. Once those cards go out, I’ll start posting…but here is one;-)
